The Hörmann Direktantrieb S140 mounts directly on the door shaft: no chain or chain transmission unit, no intermediate transmission between motor and door. Why choose the Direktantrieb
The direct drive eliminates all mechanical transmission between motor and door. The result: an ultra-compact, quiet, precise system requiring less maintenance than a chain or flange drive.
Motor mounted directly on the shaft
The motor sits directly in the spring shaft. No chain, no flange, no chain transmission unit. Torque is transmitted without any mechanical intermediary - maximum efficiency and minimum wear.
Reduced lateral footprint
The motor mounts directly on the shaft, with no chain or chain transmission unit: the lateral footprint is limited to the motor itself - an advantage in halls where every centimetre counts. Fermelux checks the dimensions on site.
Full IP 65 - jet-water protected
Motor, integrated slack cable switch, safety catch device and separate microprocessor controller are all IP 65 certified. Installation in damp environments, wash zones or protected outdoor areas without restriction.
Absolute encoder AWG
The electronic absolute encoder (AWG) knows the exact door position at all times, without a reference run after power failure. Precise positioning for applications with partial or sequential opening.
Integrated slack cable switch and safety catch
The cable monitoring system and safety catch device are integrated as standard in the Direktantrieb - no separate components to mount on the door. Faster installation, higher reliability.
Reduced maintenance
Without chain, external gearbox or coupling flange: wear parts are reduced to a minimum. The microprocessor controller with integrated membrane keypad Open-Stop-Close simplifies diagnostics.

The Direktantrieb S140 is controlled via the Hörmann industrial controllers 445 R (impulse sequence) and 460 R (comfort controller). The integrated microprocessor controller handles basic functions.

Industrial hall with limited lateral space
Little lateral space, machinery or structures close to both sides of the door. The Direktantrieb mounted on the shaft, with no chain or chain transmission unit, limits the footprint; with no lateral space at all, the centre-mounted WA 500 M FU is the alternative.
Damp environment or wash zone
Food industry, dairy, brewery, wash bay: the S140's full IP 65 withstands jet water without additional components.
