The Hörmann Rollgitter is the only closure solution that combines security, permanent natural ventilation and visibility. The only closure that ventilates, secures and sees through
Unlike a solid-slat shutter (Rolltor), the Rollgitter is built from interconnected aluminium or steel rings that let air and light pass through. An equation impossible to solve otherwise: burglary resistance + permanent natural ventilation + visibility + zero ceiling footprint.
Permanent natural ventilation
The open-mesh HG-L curtain provides natural air renewal even when the grille is closed. Essential for underground car parks where EN 16798-3 mandates minimum ventilation, and for any space where mechanical extraction would be too costly.
Burglary resistance
Interconnected aluminium or galvanised steel rings, V2A stainless-steel connectors on the HG-V, anti-pullout protection (Pull-out protection) of the curtain out of its side guides as standard. Force limitation in opening and closing directions compliant with EN 12453. RC2 certification available via the related ShopRoller SR range.
See-through curtain
Through the Rollgitter rings, shop windows and showrooms stay visible even when closed. Shopping arcades, car showrooms and mall retailers keep their display impact after closing hours - a marketing benefit no solid shutter can match.
Zero ceiling footprint
The curtain rolls up on a compact shaft above the opening. No ceiling tracks, no overhead panels eating 3 to 4 metres of usable depth. In an underground car park or a low-lintel retail unit, it is often the only technically feasible solution.
200,000 cycles with maintenance (TGT)
The TGT version (Underground car park roller grille) is supplied with its operator as standard and designed for 200,000 cycles with regular maintenance (spring sets replaced roughly every 40,000 cycles). At 50 cycles/day in an office-building car park, that represents over 10 years of service.
Three kinematic chains
SB version with traction spring for manual or standard motorised use, DD version with direct drive for openings up to 12 m, TGT version supplied with its own operator as standard for underground car parks. Every use case has its dedicated Rollgitter.
