Decograin
Hörmann decorative films applied to steel panels, faithfully reproducing the look of natural wood.
Definition
Decograin is a UV-resistant synthetic film laminated onto the steel skin of the panels. It reproduces the look of wood (or a metallic anthracite finish) very faithfully, while keeping the dimensional stability and durability of steel.
The 6 Decograin finishes (LPU 42)
- Golden Oak: golden oak, warm natural grain.
- Dark Oak and Night Oak: dark or very dark oak, more contemporary.
- Rosewood and Winchester Oak: warm-toned rosewood and rustic-looking oak.
- Titan Metallic CH 703: metallic anthracite grey look. The LPU 67 Thermo and HST 42 are offered in 3 finishes (Titan Metallic, Golden Oak, Dark Oak).
Benefits vs real wood
- No upkeep: no re-staining every 3 years.
- Stability: no warping with humidity swings.
- Cost: generally lower than a solid timber door.
- Durability: no greying or rotting, unlike poorly maintained solid timber.
