BiSecur - Radio system
Hörmann's bidirectional radio protocol that secures communication between handset and operator with 128-bit encryption.
Definition
BiSecur is Hörmann's bidirectional radio system, operating at 868 MHz. Its signal combines a fixed code, a rolling code and a manufacturer key, all with 128-bit encryption. Thanks to bidirectional communication, certain transmitters (HS 5 BS, FIT 5 BS) can query the operator for the door position, provided it has a bidirectional receiver.
Why BiSecur is safer
- 128-bit encryption, with a security level comparable to online banking according to Hörmann.
- Signal protected against copying by common rolling-code scanners.
- Bidirectional protocol: with a compatible receiver, the transmitter can query the door position.
- Visual feedback (green or red LED) on the HS 5 BS: you can see remotely whether the door is closed.
Compatibility
- Current Hörmann BiSecur operators (ProMatic 4, SupraMatic 4, LineaMatic, RotaMatic…); 868 MHz operators from 2005 to 2012 also accept BiSecur transmitters set to fixed-code mode.
- Remotes: HS 5 BS (4 buttons + 1 status-query button), HSE 4 BS (mini), HSD 2 BS (design).
- Smart home integration via the Hörmann WLAN Gateway, connected to the operator's HCP bus.
Frequently asked questions
Does my old Hörmann handset work with BiSecur?
Old handsets (blue rolling-code) are not BiSecur-compatible. You need to replace the handset with a BiSecur model to benefit from the secure protocol.
Can I open my garage door from my smartphone?
Yes, with the Hörmann WLAN Gateway, wired to the operator's HCP bus (HAP 1 HCP adapter for Series 4): you open and close the door and see its status via Apple Home, Amazon Alexa or Google Home. Near the garage, the BlueSecur app also allows control via Bluetooth.
